What are the best exercises for my hips to get better at Bachata?

I’ve taken some Bachata classes and my hips are pretty sore after wards. Anything I can do to strengthen them?

Actually, when dancing bachata it’s not so much the hips that get worked but the abs. You move your hips, but the hip action on counts 4 and 8 simple flex the abs.

I’d just say work on your abs because your hips will also get part of the workout, I guess if you want to specifically target the hips you could do some hip exercises.

The most comon hip exercise would be to simply lie on the floor, on your side, from there simply lift your top leg about two feet up, hold it for about 5-10 seconds then put it down. Simply repeat as many times as you please and then switch sides.

Have fun with your bachata bud.
